Features and Benefits

The AliveCor Heart Monitor is cleared by the FDA for sale in the U.S. to

licensed medical professionals and prescribed patients to record, display, store,

and transfer single-channel electrocardiogram (ECG) rhythms.

$199*

U.S. only

*For use with iPhone® 4, 4S and 5. Shipping, handling and taxes not included. Phone not included.

Easy to Use. Convenient.

To generate a Lead I ECG, rest the electrodes on the fingers from each hand (iPhone Home button should be on the right). The app senses skin contact on the sensors and when an acceptable connection is made it counts down to initiate the ECG recording. Set your app to take 30 second, and up to continuous, rhythm strips. While the ECG records it will also display heart rate. ECGs over 10 seconds are automatically saved in the app for review and can be annotated with details or can be discarded. ECGs can be inverted if needed and gain and paper speed adjusted as well.

Clinical. Accurate.

In clinical trials, the AliveCor Heart Monitor demonstrated clinical efficacy. The Heart Monitor is an ideal tool for quick, accurate screening and recording.

ALIVECOR INTRO

Powerful. Portable.

Our clinical-quality, single-channel ECG recorder leverages the power, display, and communication capabilities of the iPhone 4, 4S and 5. The Heart Monitor does not use power from the iPhone, but utilizes a 3.0V coin cell battery that will take up to roughly 10,000, 30-second ECGs before needing replacement. The Heart Monitor also uses AliveCor’s proprietary wireless communication protocol to communicate with the app, and requires no pairing between the iPhone and the Heart Monitor.

Cost Effective. High Value.

At only $199.00*, the AliveCor Heart Monitor gives you instant, portable screening opportunities. Utilize the device anytime, anywhere to evaluate heart rate and rhythm.

Clinical Support

The AliveCor Heart Monitor has been used in several clinical trials along with rigorous testing through numerous medical professionals and in many on-going studies at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, USC’s Center for Body Computing, and other institutions.
Abstracts were presented in 2012 at three major cardiology meetings, demonstrating usability, accuracy, and the ability to use the device for community screening.

"The ability to get an ECG on a Smartphone is remarkably transformative—an icon of how medicine of the future will be radically rebooted." Eric Topol, M.D.

Research studies currently in progress to explore effectiveness in the following:

  • Post-Ablation follow-up
  • Long-term Afib remote monitoring
  • Multi-specialty care integration
  • Medication-induced QT duration response monitoring
  • Expanding PA/RN data collection abilities
  • Preventive pediatric care
  • Stress induced rhythm morphology changes

iPhone Rhythm Strip: Clinical Implications of Wireless and Ubiquitous Heart Rate Monitoring

Conclusion

Anytime ECG monitoring, as an adjunct to a smart phone, is intuitive and allows users to learn about and characterize their heart rates and rhythms. It provides global identification of arrhythmias at any time. The implications of this technology for improving public awareness of health metrics and for the early diagnosis of arrhythmias in large patient populations are enormous.

Validation of an iPhone ECG Application Suitable for Community Screening for Silent Atrial Fibrillation: A Novel Way to Prevent Stroke

Conclusion

A high quality single-lead ECG can be rapidly and simply recorded using an iPhone with the AliveCor application, to accurately diagnose AF, making this an ideal enabling technology for community screening programs to detect silent AF. Screening programs utilizing this device could have a substantial impact on reducing ischemic stroke related to previously undiagnosed AF.
