As an established executive leader, Priya brings more than 20 years of experience in building high-performing organizations, launching innovative products and leading strategic alliances across industries. She most recently served as the General Manager/Director at Alexa Voice Service (AVS) at Amazon, where she was responsible for leading product, engineering, technical enablement and developer experience teams. Priya’s work with customers, device manufacturers and technology providers in consumer electronics accelerated the adaption of voice technology and AI into smart speakers, PCs, TVs, set top boxes, hearables, wearables and smart home devices.
Priya started her career with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science, and her first job was to write architectural validation tools for the Intel Pentium product family. Since completing her MBA, Priya has held several leadership roles creating global scale for new digital platform technologies. Prior to Amazon, Priya was a Senior Director at Intel, leading customer enablement and solutions integration.
David E. Albert, MD
Founder, Chief Medical Officer
David E. Albert, MD, an Oklahoma native, is a physician, inventor and serial entrepreneur who has developed life-saving technologies and products over the last 30 years, turning a number of those innovations into tech startups. Today, he is a founder of three technology companies, InnovAlarm, Lifetone Technology, and AliveCor. His previous startups include Corazonix Corp (sold to Arrhythmia Research Technology) and Data Critical (sold to GE). Dr. Albert left GE in 2004 as Chief Scientist of GE Cardiology to disrupt several new markets.
His latest invention, AliveCor’s KardiaMobile personal ECG technology, became a global sensation via a YouTube Video in January 2011 around the Consumer Electronics Show and was featured on ABC, CBS, CNN and Fox News among many other media outlets. Dr. Albert has 32 issued US patents, a large number pending and several new “secret inventions” in development. He has authored or co-authored over 50 scientific abstracts and publications, principally in the cardiology literature. Dr. Albert has lectured at the Entrepreneurship programs at the MIT Sloan School and the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Albert graduated with Honors from Harvard College and from Duke University Medical School.
Chief Commercial Officer
Ira Bahr brings extensive sales, marketing and business development experience with high profile consumer, technology, and media brands. Ira has served in a range of senior roles at Sirius Radio, Dish Network, and TiVo, and has been responsible for customer acquisition, product marketing, customer loyalty and corporate communications.
Bahr oversaw the product planning and marketing for “Hopper,” Dish’s whole-home DVR as well as for Dish’s first mobile streaming applications. Bahr has authored enduring branding changes for multiple companies including Sirius, where he is acknowledged as having conceived the corporate name. Ira began his career at BBDO where he held positions of increasing responsibility working with clients including FedEx, Pepsi and GE.
Brian Clarke brings more than 20 years of legal experience to his role as General Counsel at AliveCor. Throughout his career, Brian has advised and supported executive staff and board members for publicly traded and privately held companies. He has extensive subject matter experience in transactions, licensing, privacy (HIPAA & GDPR), security compliance (SOC2 & ISO27001), regulatory, M&A, financings, and IP procurement and enforcement.
Prior to AliveCor, Brian was a founding partner at Clarke IP Law. He also served as Director of Intellectual Property at both Accuray Incorporated and NeoGuide Systems, Inc. Brian has worked for several marquee Silicon Valley IP law firms advising clients in patent litigation, portfolio development, strategic patent analysis, IP due diligence, transaction negotiations, and agreement drafting. Brian received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
Chief Financial Officer
John Maley has guided emerging, high-growth tech companies in financial and operational matters for over 20 years. He has worked in both the digital media and medical device industries with numerous venture-backed start-ups. Prior to joining AliveCor in 2015, John worked at Kranz and Associates in interim CFO consulting roles, assisting numerous Silicon Valley start-up companies. During his tenure at Kranz and Associates, John supported numerous debt and equity financing transactions from Series A through Series C preferred transactions, several venture debt transactions, five acquisitions, 409a valuations, and audits.
John also served as Chief Financial Officer for Corazon, where he raised more than $20 million in preferred debt and equity financings, culminating in the sale of its intellectual property to a division of Johnson and Johnson. Previously, John was Director of Finance at eGroups (Yahoo! Groups), where he helped manage a merger transaction and S-1 filing for the company. He also was instrumental in eGroups’ $450 million sale to Yahoo in October 2000. John received his CPA with Ernst & Young, serving in their Boston, Palo Alto, and London offices.
